Started in 2009, Enchanted Forest is a family-owned eco-positive maternity, baby, and children’s boutique that has called Truro home since 2011. We carry a carefully selected collection of earth-friendly, quality products and offer support to growing families in the form of a welcoming community space with workshops and social events, an extensive lending library, and experienced staff. Our goal is to empower parents to connect with one another, thrive in parenthood, and have fun... all while leaving a legacy and planet that all of our children will be proud to inherit.

 

Are you right for our team?

Our current need is for a part-time employee to work 15-30 hours per week (fluctuating seasonally with needs of the business). Applicants must be committed to working with us a minimum of 3 Saturday shifts per month, and 2-3 weekday shifts with the ability to close at 5-6pm. Ability to work Friday evenings and/or Sunday afternoons would be an asset. Applicants must have reliable childcare and transportation. Daily tasks will include providing customer service, product demonstrations, and customer education. You will be responsible for receiving shipments, stocking and organizing product, inventory management, processing of online orders, and minor website work. Merchandizing & display creation & maintenance, as well as office-related and housekeeping tasks will be part of your duties. 

We’re looking for confidence, enthusiasm and a genuine, friendly and caring attitude- someone who loves helping others, and can strike up a conversation easily. We want a team member who is open to a wide variety of parenting styles and can relate to other parents with empathy (not judgment!) and who can sensitively discuss topics ranging from menstruation and fertility to birth, breastfeeding, and beyond. Our ideal candidate will have previous retail/sales experience, be proficient in computer & tablet use, and be passionate about living a healthy, eco-friendly, community-focused lifestyle.

To be successful, you must be hard-working and able to multitask in a work environment that is often fast-paced. Because we’re still growing, you will be working independently much of the time, and must be self-motivated. Being knowledgeable about our products and community resources means that you must be willing to be open and willing to learn... a lot! You’ll receive a great investment in training, but will be expected to self-study and research the products we carry in addition to the training we provide. This position includes standing during shifts, and the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
